Program > Forum on Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering


State Key Laboratory of Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (SKLGME), founded in 2007 under the auspices of Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, is hosted by the Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

As one of premier research institutions in China, SKLGME is dedicated to fundamental research and technological innovation in the field of Geomechanics and geo-engineering, with orientation to the national and global strategic needs in construction of significant infrastructure, geo-hazard mitigation, utilization of natural resources, underground storage of fossil fuels, geological disposal of radioactive nuclear waste, CO2 utilization and sequestration, soild waste disposal and far beyond. SKLGME is also a vibrant institution for professional training and academic exchange.

The annual meeting on the Visiting Scholars Program of SKLGME will be organized by SKLGME from this year. Every year we will have different topics generated by SKLGME Director Board Meeting, and the reports about progress and results of some related Proposals approved will be invited, presenting by the PIs during the annual meeting.

The 1st annual meeting themed “Forum on Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering” will be held during EUUS2019 Conference in Hongshan Hotel. Welcome all scholars and their research group members approved and the scholars who have intention to apply for the Program to joining us and having frontier exchanges, although the scholars who have an on-going Program shall participate in. All expenses (travel expenses, accommodation, registration fee, etc.) will be paid from the Scholarship for Visiting Scholars Program of SKLGME if the remaining fund is enough. We are anticipating your active participation.

Leader of Soil Dynamics Research Section in IRSM / Vice-director of SKLGME / Selected by “CAS One-hundred Talents Plan”
His research is centered on the study of multi-field coupling of multiphase geo-material. He is now the editor of Chinese Journal of Rock and Soil Mechanics and Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, a member of Unsaturated Soil Mechanics (CT106) of ISSMGE.

Prof. Shaojun Li

Leader of Intelligent Rock Mechanics Research Section in IRSM / Director Assistant of SKLGME / Selected by “China Ten Thousand Talents Plan” / Winner of Science & Technology Award for Chinese Youth
His research is centered on the mechanism, warning and control of disasters in deep rock engineering. He is now the editor of Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering and Chinese Journal of Rock and Soil Mechanics, a member of Deep Underground Committee of ISRM.
